Composite Cladding

Castellation Cladding

Castellation is a type of cladding that has a castellation profile. Viewed end-on, it looks similar to the series of alternating parapets and indentations you would see on the top of a castle wall (hence the name).

When viewed on a building façade, castellation cladding is made up of parallel spaced battens with a shadow line or recess between each, which gives the façade an attractive multi-dimensional appearance.

Castellation cladding can be installed horizontally or vertically and due to its visually appealing look, it’s a style that’s enjoying a resurgence in popularity in both commercial and residential building design.

Castellation Cladding - Installation Guide

What is cladding?

Cladding is an extra layer applied to the outside of buildings to protect it from the elements and enhance the facade of residential and commercial structures. In many cases, cladding is used to provide a degree of thermal insulation and weather resistance to new and existing buildings as well as to improve their cosmetic appearance. Less frequently, cladding may be used for noise insulation. Many different types of materials can be used for cladding with the most common being wood, metal, brick, vinyl, and composite materials.

Where would you install castellation cladding?

Castellation composite cladding is an external wall cladding primarily used on facades, ceilings, and other features such as garage doors, stand-alone feature walls etc. The finished product provides a high-end look in a range of different colours, without the need for periodic maintenance common with other products. It also utilizes a hidden clip system to provide you a seamless finish.

What colours of castellation cladding are available?

The castellation cladding comes in Aged Wood, IPE, Oak & Silver Ash.

How is cladding installed?

Adding cladding to your home is not necessarily an easy feat, which is why so many turn to professionals for installation. It can take quite a bit of planning and prep to ensure that your building's facade is cosmetically appealing and structurally sound. Before you get started you'll need to gather a series of tools including claw hammers, pliers, ladders and scaffolds, crowbars, tape measurer, utility knife, and a hacksaw. To add cladding to your home, first measure the area, complete sheathing, install insulation then begin on adding the cladding material of your choice.
